This image was taken in Toronto, Ontario at the 2008 LGBT Pride parade. Each year’s parade is a blend of celebration and protest, depending on the state of the world at the time. Conditions for most queer folk around the globe are worse than 18 years ago, but we still gather to celebrate. Dance. March.
May the better angels of our nature lead us to a more equitable and peaceful future. And soon.
The original photograph was tweaked to leave only the angel and their outfit in bright colours. All sales help this elder queer independent artist move back into the arms of the loving biologicals that have been my divine blessing for decades.
