Updates to Authorized Production partners for The Digital Gryphon llc photography and design.
I opened my first POD (Print On Demand) shop at Cafepress in 2004, and have had shops at (or extensively reviewed) pretty much every merchandise POD site in the years since. I served on CafePress Voice (CPV) as a Designers Representative before they were sold off.
I’ve been much less active (for a variety of reasons) in recent years at testing other POD sites but am excited to announce that I’ve added The Digital Gryphon llc photography and design to my shop at Fourthwall. They will be one of two online shops offering General Merchandise with my work. While they offer an extensive range of apparel options there are production procedures that don’t work with my situation.
The new shop also serves as a ‘store front’ for my Moving Sale of items to rehome and inventory of The Tarot of Sister Who and their Music CDs.
Apparel (shirts, tank tops, etc.)
I use DigitalGryphon.Threadless.com to offer my designs on tee shirts, tank tops and sweatshirts. They use a single app to create their internal production files, regardless of shirt style or production location. I only have to upload my design and description once and it creates a catalogue page with a full range of styles, sizes and colours. Then I have the choice of adding other product types if I have a matching production file.
Fourthwall uses a number of big pod apparel companies- each with their own pricing structure, production facilities, subcontractors and file creation software/ app. Which means I would have to create multiple product pages with completely different colour options, based on which company handles production, for each design.
While selecting something from the full product range at Threadless may be overwhelming, having a slightly smaller range done over 8 different product pages is equally daunting for shoppers and more work to create and maintain.
General Merchandise (Mugs, Notebooks, etc.)
My shop at Threadless does offer Notebooks and a few household items (throw pillows, totebags, jigsaw puzzles) which I add when I have a proper proportioned file.
Going forward the Fourthwall shop should be your first stop if you’re looking for my designs on fun gift ideas. They have a great selection of drinkware (mugs and glasses) and paper products (notebooks and posters) along with bandanas that might be perfect altar cloths.
All-Canadian Production
While a number of well-known Print On Demand sites have Canadian production facilities or sub-contractors, none that I can find offer a full range of items at those locations. Nor will they guarantee that every order for those items with a Canadian delivery address would be produced domestically. Like most large firms, they use Logistics software to allocate production based on work load, delivery options, etc.
Should any of that change I’ll share as soon as I can guarantee domestic production for Canadian customers.
Fine Art Prints, Oracle Decks, Books
There are no other changes to announce regarding my other Production partners at this time.
